The Small Spotted Frog and the Listener
The Story
The man called the listener sat by the edge of the swamp.
One frog sang very high notes so he could be heard above
the rest of the frogs. The listener waded out into the water
lillies, found the frog and brought him back to the campfire,
asking him why his voice was so high. The frog told the man
of the coming flood and how he could survive it. He told the
man to build a raft and a strong rope and tie the raft to the
tallest tree he could find. This way the raft would be able to
raise with the water, and he would not drown.
